Procedure
Trifluoroacetic acid (2.0 mL) was added dropwise to 73 (300 mg, 0.706 mmol) dissolved in CH2Cl2 (2 mL) at 0° C. The reaction mixture was stirred at RT for 3 h and the volatiles were removed under reduced pressure. The residue was chromatographed on silca gel (20:1 CH2Cl2:MeOH) to afford 225 mg (86%) of 74 as a yellow solid. 1H NMR (400 MHz, DMSO-d6): δ 1.53 (br s, 6H), 1.88 (br s, 2H), 2.20 (m, 2H), 6.54 (d, J=16.0 Hz, 1H), 6.65 (d, J=8.8 Hz, 2H), 6.92 (d, J=8.4 Hz, 2H), 7.23 (d, J=7.9 Hz, 1H), 7.52 (d, J=16.0 Hz, 1H), 7.59 (d, J=7.9 Hz, 1H). LRMS (ESI): m/z 370 (M+H)+.
