Nitric Acid → 4'-Fluoro-3'-nitroacetophenone
Reaction equation
[F:1][C:2]1[CH:7]=[CH:6][C:5]([C:8](=[O:10])[CH3:9])=[CH:4][CH:3]=1.[N+:11]([O-])([OH:13])=[O:12]>>[F:1][C:2]1[CH:7]=[CH:6][C:5]([C:8](=[O:10])[CH3:9])=[CH:4][C:3]=1[N+:11]([O-:13])=[O:12]Participants

Procedure
1-fluoro-4-acetyl-benzene was reacted with nitric acid to obtain 2-fluoro-5-acetyl-nitro benzene with a melting point of 56°-58° C. which was reacted as in Example 1 to obtain 0-(4-acetyl-2-nitro-phenyl)-hydroxylamine melting at 132° C.
