Procedure
A procedure similar to that described in Example 1 was repeated, except that 0.57 g of 5-[4-{2(R)-[5(R)-(3-chlorophenoxymethyl)-2-oxooxazolidin-3-yl]-propoxy}benzyl]-3-triphenylmethylthiazolidine-2,4-dione (prepared as described in Preparation 45), 2 ml of trifluoroacetic acid and 2 ml of methylene chloride were used, to give 280 mg of the title compound, melting at 52° C. to 53° C. and having [α]D =-39.7° (methanol, c=0.965).
