A solution of SnCl2 (4 mmole) in freshly prepared methonolic HCl (10 mL) was added to a cold (0° C.) solution of 2-diethylphosphonomethyloxy-5-vinylnitrobenzene (1 mmole) in MeOH (5 mL). The mixture was warmed to room temperature and stirred for 3 h. Evaporation, extraction and chromatography provided 2-diethylphosphonomethyloxy-5-vinylaniline.
