To a solution of N-benzyl-6-chloro-2-hydroxy-3-nitrobenzenesulfonamide (180 mg, 0.52 mmol) in ethyl acetate, was added 10% Pd/C (70 mg). The mixture was flushed with argon, then stirred under a hydrogen atmosphere at balloon pressure for 1 hour at room temperature. The mixture was filtered through celite and the celite was washed with methanol. The solvent was evaporated to give the desired product (140 mg, 85%). 1H NMR (DMSO-d6): δ 8.73 (t, 1H), 7.24 (m, 5H), 6.78 (d, 1H), 4.09 (d, 2H).
