1 g (2.5 mmol) of 8-cyano-1-cyclopropyl-6-fluoro-7-((1S,6S)-2-oxa-5,8-diazabicyclo[4.3.0]non-8-yl)-1,4-dihydro-4-oxo-3-quinolinecarboxylic acid is suspended in 20 ml of water, and the suspension is treated with 10 ml of 1N hydrochloric acid and stirred at room temperature for 3 hours. The precipitate obtained is filtered off with suction, washed with ethanol and dried at 80° C. in a high vacuum.
