Prepared from (6-methyl-2-p-tolyl-imidazo[1,2-a]pyridine-3-yl)-acetaldehyde 6b and 3-bromo-thiophene using the procedure of Method B described above. 1H NMR (400 MHz, CDCl3) δ 2.33 (s, 3H), 2.41 (s, 3H), 4.60 (s, 2H), 7.05 (dd, J=1.4 Hz, 9.1 Hz, 1H), 7.30 (m, 4H), 7.53 (d, J=1.4 Hz, 1H), 7.55 (d, J=8.0 Hz, 2H), 7.59 (s, 1H), 7.99 (d, J=1.1, 2.5 Hz, 1H). Mass spectrum (m/e) 347 (M+).
