A mixture of 4 g of hydrazino-acetaldehyd diethylacetal in 40 ml of ethanol is stirred with 1.97 g of methylisothiocyanate for ca. 4 hours at room temperature, the solvent is evaporated off and 2-(2,2-diethoxy-ethyl)-4-methyl-thiosemicarbazide is obtained in crystalline form.
