Procedure

To a solution of 4-[5-(1-azido-ethyl)-2-fluoro-phenyl]-morpholine (1 g) in THF (20 mL) at 40° C. was added LiAlH4 (500 mg). The reaction mixture was warmed to room temperature and then stirred for 1 hour. The reaction was quenched with water, 10 N sodium hydroxide followed again by water. The resulting mixture was filtered through Celite and the filtrate was concentrated in vacuo. The residue was extracted with CH2Cl2, and the organic layer was washed with water, dried over Na2SO4, filtered and concentrated in vacuo to give 890 mg of the title compound as an oil.
