The mixture of (S)-{1-[3-(2-hydroxymethyl-morpholin-4-yl)phenyl]-ethyl}-carbamic acid tert-butyl ester (1.0 g, 3.4 mmol) and hydrochloric acid (1.0M solution in diethyl ether) (10.2 mmol, 3eq) was stirred at room temperature overnight. Concentrated under vacuum and the title compound was obtained as pale red solid (quantitative yield) ready for use for next step without purification.
