In a manner similar to that of Example 1(h), by reaction of 6.8 g (37 mmol) of 3-methoxymethoxyphenylboronic acid (described in Example 1(g)) with 11 g (31 mmol) of ethyl 3-tert-butyl-4-trifluoromethanesulphonyloxybenzoate, 37 mL of 2M potassium carbonate and 1.8 g of tetrakis(triphenylphosphine)-palladium, followed by deprotection in ethanol, the desired product is obtained in the form of pink crystals (m.p.=118-120° C.; m=5.3 g; Y=57%).
