Procedure

A mixture of Example 18A (1.60 g, 6.3 mmol) and LiOH.H2O (2.64 g) in THF/water (50 mL/50 mL) was stirred at room temperature for 2 hours. The THF was removed under vacuum and the aqueous layer was acidified with 1N HCl (aq.). The solid was collected by filtration and dried to provide the desired product. MS (DCI/NH3) m/e 227 (M+H)+.
