4-Amino-5 -nitro-2′,7′-difluoro-3′,6′-dihydroxy-spiro [isobenzofuran-1(3H),9′-[9H]xanthen]-3-one (1.3 g, 3.0 mmol) was added to an aqueous solution of Na2S and NaSH, and the mixture was refluxed for 24 hours. The reaction mixture was cooled, and adjusted to pH 3 with hydrochloric acid, and precipitates were collected by filtration. The obtained product was dried and purified by silica gel chromatography to obtain the title compound (0.94 g, 78%).
