Procedure

Stir 600 mg of the product of Step A and 1.1 g thionyl bromide in 6 ml of chloroform under a nitrogen atmosphere for 11/2 hours. Evaporate the solvent in vacuo. Dry the resultant residue under high vacuum for 15 minutes to obtain the title compound.
