Procedure
23.9 g (0.1 moles) 4-nitrotetrafluoroethoxybenzene are dissolved in 75 ml glacial acetic acid and reduced at 50°-60° C. in the presence of platinum with hydrogen at normal pressure. After receiving 7.4 l hydrogen the catalyst was filtered off and the filtrate is heated 1 hour with 75 ml acetic anhydride accompanied by reflux. The reaction mixture is then concentrated in a vacuum to 1/3 the original solvent quantity and poured onto 1 l ice water. The acetyl amino compound first precipitates as an oil which crystalizes overnight. 23.5 g (94% theoretical yield) of almost colorless crystals with a melting range of 114°-115° C. are obtained.
