In 10 ml of dichloromethane was dissolved 282 mg of Compound (1), and the solution was cooled on a sodium chloride-ice bath, to which were added 140 μ1 of triethylamine and 96 μ1 of ethyl chlorocarbonate. To the mixture was added 119 mg of (4S)-4-benzyloxycarbonylamino-3-isoxazolidinone. The mixture was stirred for one hour under ice-cooling and for one hour at room temperature. The solvent was evaporated off under reduced pressure. The residue was subjected to extraction with ethyl acetate, and the organic layer was washed with an aqueous solution of sodium hydrogen carbonate, then with a saturated saline solution, followed by drying (MgSO4). Then, the solvent was evaporated off, and the residue was subjected to a silica gel chromatography, followed by elution with 1,2-dichloroethane-ethyl acetate (9:1), then with hexane-ethyl acetate (1:1) to give 73 mg of the subject Compound (9).
