In 2 ml of dichloromethane were dissolved 121 mg of (4S)-4-benzyloxycarbonylamino-3-isoxazolidinone and 200 mg of the Compound (78) obtained in Example 78. To the solution was added a solution of 137 mg of DCC in 1 ml of dichloromethane. The solution was stirred at room temperature for 2 hours. To the reaction solution was added ethyl acetate. The crystals which separated out were filtered off, and the filtrate was washed with water and dried (MgSO4). The solvent was evaporated off, and the residue was subjected to a silica gel column chromatography, followed by elution with hexane-ethyl acetate (2:1) to give 216 mg of the subject Compound (80) as a pale yellow oily product.
