Chlorocarbonylsulfenyl chloride (13.1 g, 0.1 mol) was mixed with 2-butanol (6.7 g, 0.09 mol)and warmed to about 35° to 40° C. for one hour. Distillation resulted in the tithe compound (5.93 g) Bp. 70° C./0.8 mm Hg. NMR spectrum was consistent with the structure.
