Procedure
This compound was prepared from trans 1,1-dimethylethyl 4-[4-(4-fluorophenyl)-1-cyclohexyl]-1-piperazine carboxylate (1.7 mmole) by treatment with TFA for 0.5 hr. The TFA was removed in vacuo and the residue dissolved in water. The solution was basified with NaOH and the basic mixture extracted with methylene chloride. The extracts were dried and concentrated in vacuo to give the product which was converted to the difumarate [95%, mp: 210° C. (dec)]. Calc'd for C16H23FN2.2C4H3O4.0.25H2O: C, 57.77%; H, 6.39%; N, 5.61%. Found: C, 57.69%; H, 6 23%; N, 5.60%.
