The title compound (1.56 g, 52.6%) was synthesized from 1-(4-nitro-phenyl)-piperazine (2 g, 9.66 mmol) and 4-bromo-butyric acid methyl ester (1.75 g, 9.83 mmol) by the procedure described in step 1 of Example 1 MS (ESI) m/z 264 (M+H); 1H NMR (400 MHz, CDCl3) δ 1.86 (m, 2H), 2.39 (m, 4H), 2.58 (t, J=5.2 Hz, 4H), 3.41 (t, J=5.2, 4H), 3.68 (s, 3H), 6.81 (m, 2H), 8.12 (m, 2H).
