Methyl 2,6-dichloropyrimidine-4-carboxylate (5.00 g) was dissolved in DCM (120 mL). (3S)-3-Methylmorpholine (2.49 g) dissolved in triethylamine (3.70 mL) and DCM (10 mL) was added dropwise to the solution over 10 minutes. The reaction was left to stir at room temperature for 1 hour then the mixture concentrated in vacuo and dissolved in DCM (300 mL). The organics were washed with water (150 mL) and dried (MgSO4). The crude material was chromatographed on silica, eluting with 2.5% methanol in DCM, to give the desired compound (3.15 g) as a white solid.
