Procedure
To a solution of 1,1-dimethylethyl (2-{4-[6-(methyloxy)-1,5-naphthyridin-4-yl]-3-oxo-1-piperazinyl}ethyl)carbamate (1.5 g, 3.74 mmol) in MeOH (19 mL) at 25° C. was added dropwise, a solution of HCl in dioxane (6.5 mL, 26.18 mmol, 4M HCl in dioxane). After 12 h, the solution was concentrated and the residue neutralized with excess MP carbonate resin affording the free amine (1.1 mg, 98%) as a red oil which was used without further purification: LCMS (ES) m/e 302 (M+H)+.
