Procedure
A solution of 6-chloropyridazine-3-carboxylic acid (2-cyclopropylethyl)amide (7.8 g, 34 mmol) and piperazine (8.93 g, 103 mmol) in acetonitrile (100 mL) was heated to refluxed for 2 hours. The solvent was removed by evaporation and the residue was dissolved in water (100 mL). The aqueous solution was extracted with dichloromethane (5×100 mL) and the organic extract was dried over anhydrous Na2SO4, filtered through a pad of silica gel and concentrated to give 6-piperazin-1-ylpyridazine-3-carboxylic acid (2-cyclopropylethyl)amide (8.2 g, 88%). 1H NMR (300 MHz, CDCl3) δ 7.90-7.87, 6.89, 3.78-3.50, 3.12-2.90, 1.77-1.49, 0.83-0.60, 0.51-0.36, 0.15-0.01.
