Procedure
A solution of 40 mg 3-{2-[5-(4,4-dimethyl-2,5-dioxo-3-quinolin-4-ylmethyl-imidazolidin-1-yl)-2-methoxy-phenoxy]-ethylamino}-pyrrolidine-1-carboxylic acid tert-butyl ester in 2 ml of a 8 N solution of hydrochloric acid in methanol was stirred for 1 hour at room temperature. After removal of the solvent under reduced pressure the residue was dissolved in a mixture of 2 ml water and 1 ml acetonitrile. Lyophilization of the resulting mixture yielded a white foam. The product was obtained as its hydrochloric salt.
