Procedure

A mixture of (R)-6-bromo-1-(1-(4-chloro-2-(trifluoromethyl)phenyl)ethyl)-1H-benzo[d][1,2,3]triazole (0.32 g, 0.8 mmol), (N-t-butoxycarbonyl-1,2,3,6-tetrahydropyridin-4-yl)boronic acid pincol ester (0.27 g, 0.8 mmol), Pd(PPh3)4 (0.046 g, 0.039 mmol), and 2 M aqueous potassium carbonate (1.2 mL, 2.4 mmol) in 2:1toluene/ethanol (3.6 mL) was purged with nitrogen for 5 min, and then heated at 100° C. for 2 h. After cooling to room temperature, the mixture was extracted with ethyl acetate (15 mL). The organic layer was washed with brine, dried (Na2SO4), and concentrated in vacuo. The resulting crude material was purified by flash chromatography (SiO2, 0-100% ethyl acetate in hexanes) to afford the desired product (0.33 g, 0.65 mmol, 83%).
