To 3-(4-methoxybenzyl)-5-((4-methylquinazolin-2-yl)methyl)-7,8-dihydro-3H-imidazo[2,1-b]pinin-4(5H)-one 13 (858 mg, 1.89 mmol) was added TFA (20 ml), and stirred at 70° C. over night. The mixture was concentrated and purified by flash chromatography (MeOH/DCM, MeOH contains 10% ammonia) to afford the product 5-((4-methylquinazolin-2-yl)methyl)-7,8-dihydro-3H-imidazo[2,1-b]purin-4(5H)-one 14.
