Reaction of 5',7'-dimethyl-4-propionylspiro[cyclohexane-1,1'-indan]-3,5-dione with ethoxyamine according to the procedure described in Example 1 part (c) gave 5',7'-dimethyl-4-[1-(ethoxyimino)propyl]spiro[cyclohexane-1,1'indan]-3,5-dione (1) as a pale yellow oil which was characterized by its proton magnetic resonance spectrum and the spectroscopic data is recorded in Table 2, Example 12.
