A mixture of 2,2-dimethyl-6-(5-methyl-1H-pyrazol-4-yl)-2,3-dihydrothieno[3,2-d]pyrimidin-4(1H)-one (1.97 g, 7.51 mmol), 1 M aqueous HCl. (38 mL) and MeOH (38 mL) was stirred at 50° C. for 4 h. After removal of the solvent at reduced pressure, the organic materials were extracted with EtOAc/THF. The combined extracts were dried over Na2SO4 and filtered. After removal of the solvent at reduced pressure, the residue was purified by column chromatography (Purif, silica gel, EtOAc to 90:10 EtOAc/MeOH) to give the title compound (1.20 g, 72%) as a green solid:
