Procedure

In a 25 ml round-bottomed flask, 1.35 g of potassium carbonate are added in small portions to a solution of 0.86 g of 3-(2,4-dihydroxyphenyl)azetidine-1-carboxylic acid tert-butyl ester (Example 1) in 9 ml of methyl ethyl ketone.
