Reaction Steps
A 4.0 g. portion of 3-chloro-thieno[3,4-b][1,5]benzoxazepin-10(9H)-one is converted to 3,10-dichloro-thieno[3,4-b][1,5]benzoxazepine as described in Example 12. This compound is then reacted with N-methylpiperazine giving the base compound as a foam which is further converted to the fumarate, m.p. 150°-151° C.
