A solution of 2-((1-(4-fluorophenyl)-2-((2,3,6-trifluoro benzyl)thio)-1H-imidazol-5-yl)methyl)isoindoline-1,3-dione (29) (390 mg, 0.78 mmol) and hydrazine hydrate (76 μL, 1.57 mmol) in ethanol (8 mL) was refluxed overnight. The white precipitate was removed by vacuum filtration and washed with ethanol and concentrated in vacuo to obtain (1-(4-fluorophenyl)-2-((2,3,6-trifluorobenzyl)thio)-1H-imidazol-5-yl)methanamine (30).
