A mixture of (S)-2-(azetidin-1-yl)propan-1-ol (99.7 mmol), TBSCl (15.8 g, 105 mmol), DMAP (1.22 g, 10 mmol), and TEA (30.3 g, 0.30 mol) in toluene (150 mL) was stirred at room temperature overnight. The solvent was removed under reduced pressure. The residue was purified on a silica gel column eluted with a 1:5 ethyl acetate/petroleum ether then a 1:10 MeOH/DCM, to afford the title compound (2.92 g). 1H NMR (CDCl3): δ 3.54-3.49 (m, 1H), 3.29-3.16 (m, 5H), 2.33-2.27 (m, 1H), 2.07-1.98 (m, 2H), 0.88 (s, 9H), 0.87 (d, 3H), 0.03 (s, 6H); LCMS: 230 (M+H)+.
