Procedure

Following general procedure GP-L, (R)-methyl 1-benzyl-3-(2-(quinuclidin-3-ylamino)ethyl)-1H-indazole-4-carboxylate (1.1 mg, 2.63 mmol) and lithium hydroxide monohydrate (332 mg, 7.89 mmol) were converted lithium (R)-1-benzyl-3-(2-(quinuclidin-3-ylamino)ethyl)-1H-indazole-4-carboxylate (1.09 g, quant. yield) which was used in the next step without further purification: 1H NMR (300 MHz, CDCl3) δ 7.37-7.34 (m, 1H), 7.30-7.26 (m, 3H), 7.25-7.11 (m, 3H), 7.06-7.03 (m, 1H), 5.54 (s, 2H), 3.27 (m, 2H), 2.85-2.70 (m, 4H), 2.67-2.50 (m, 3H), 2.18-2.12 (m, 1H), 1.75-1.45 (m, 3H), 1.40-1.15 (m, 2H): MS (ESI+) m/z 405 (M+H).
