Procedure
A solution of (S)-2-methyl-N—((S)-(3-methylpyridin-2-yl)(4-(trifluoro-methyl)phenyl)methyl)propane-2-sulfinamide (0.355 g, 0.958 mmol) in MeOH (10 mL) was treated with hydrogen chloride, 4.0 M solution in 1,4-dioxane (0.6 mL, 2.400 mmol) and stirred at rt. The reaction was concentrated on the rotary evaporator resulting in a gummy residue. The residue (S)-(3-methylpyridin-2-yl)-(4-(trifluoromethyl)phenyl)methanamine hydrochloride was used in the next steps without further purification.
