1.7 g of tert-butyl 2-oxopyrrolidine-3-carboxylate and 1.8 g of Lawesson's reagent were added to 20 ml of benzene and stirred at 50° to 60° C. for 1 hour. After filtering the insoluble matters the solvent was distilled off and the obtained residue was purified by silica gel chromatography to thereby give 1.0 g of the title compound.
