Procedure

In 3 mL of ethyl acetate was dissolved 0.25 g 5 of 1-{3-[2-(1-benzothiophen-5-yl)ethoxy]propyl}-3-azetidinyl=benzoate, and 0.07 g of maleic acid was added thereto, after which the resulting mixture was heated to effect dissolution. The reaction mixture was cooled and the crystals precipitated were collected by filtration to obtain 0.15 g of 1-{3-[2-(1-benzothiophen-5-yl)ethoxy]propyl}-3-azetidinyl=benzoate maleate.
