Reaction Steps
In a manner similar to that of Example 1f, by reacting 350 mg (1 mmol) of 4-(4-tert-butylphenyl)-5,5,8,8-tetramethyl-5,6,7,8-tetrahydro-2-naphthalenecarbaldehyde with 2.6 mL (1.3 mmol) of 0.5 N ethynylmagnesium bromide solution. White crystals are obtained (m=300 mg; yield=80%).
