Procedure

To a suspension of lithium aluminum hydride (2.84 g) in tetrahydrofuran (70 ml) was added dropwise a solution of 1-carbamoylmethyl-2,3-dihydro-1H-imidazo[1,2-b]pyrazole (6.2 g) in tetrahydrofuran (30 ml) at room temperature. The mixture was refluxed for 4 hours and cooled with ice-bath. Sodium fluoride (12.5 g) and water (4 ml) were added to the mixture under cooling. The insoluble material was filtered off and the filtrate was evaporated to give 1-(2-aminoethyl)-2,3-dihydro-1H-imidazo[1,2-b]pyrazole (4.2 g).
