To a solution of (E)-ethyl 3-(2-(4-carbamoyl-2-methylphenyl)-1-(4-chloro-2-methoxyphenyl)-1H-pyrrol-3-yl)acrylate (610 mg, 1.4 mmol) in THF (10 mL) was added Raney Ni (100 mg), and the reaction mixture was hydrogenated at room temperature under 1 atm of hydrogen for two hours. The reaction mixture was filtered, and the filtrate was concentrated to give the title compound (610 mg), which was used in the next step without further purification.
