6-Amino-5-bromo-2-cyclopropylpyrimidine-4-carboxylic acid ethyl ester (300 mg, 1.05 mmol; see WO 2005/063721 A1 for preparation), tetramethyltin (937 mg, 5.24 mmol), and bis(triphenylphosphine)palladium(II) dichloride (74 mg, 0.105 mmol) were combined in 5 mL of 1,2-dichloroethane and heated in a CEM microwave reactor at 150° C. for 20 min. The resulting reaction mixture was filtered and concentrated. The product was purified by flash chromatography on silica gel (ethyl acetate/hexane gradient) followed by a purification by reverse phase chromatography to yield the title compound (116 mg, 50% yield): mp 130-132° C.: 1H NMR (DMSO-d6) δ 6.85 (br s, 2H), 4.27 (q, 2H), 1.94 (s, 3H), 1.87 (m, 1H), 1.28 (t, 3H), 0.84 (d, 4H).
