The product of step (iii) (9.5 g) was dissolved in DCM (200 ml), cooled to 0° C. and thionyl chloride (3.57 ml) was added and stirred at rt for 2 h. The solvents were evaporated and the residue taken up in DCM and washed with aq. NaHCO3. The combined organics were dried, filtered and evaporated to give the subtitle compound as a brown oil, 9.60 g.
