N-BOC-1-methyl-octahydroisoindole-1-carboxylic acid, methyl ester was treated with HCl according to the procedure described in Example 1, Step A to afford 1-methyl-octahydroisoindole-1-carboxylic acid, methyl ester hydrochloride which was used without further purification.
