2-(biphenyl-4-ylmethyl)-5-methyl-2H-pyrazolo[3,4-d]pyrimidine-4,6(5H,7H)-dione (25 mg, 0.075 mmol) is refluxed in POCl3 (10 mL) for 60 hours, and the mixture is evaporated to dryness. The residue is purified by silica gel flash chromatography to give 26 mg product as white solids (Yield: 98.5%). 1H NMR (400 MHz, CDCl3) δ 3.68 (s, 3H), 5.45 (s, 2H), 7.39 (m, 3H), 7.43 (m, 2H), 7.59 (m, 4H), 8.01 (s, 1H). MS (FAB) m/z 351.2 [M+H]+.
