A mixture of 1.84 g of 5-[6-({[tert-butyl(dimethyl)silyl]oxy}methyl)-1H-imidazo[4,5-c]pyridin-1-yl]-3-[-1-(2-fluorophenyl)ethoxy]thiophene-2-carboxamide in 35 ml THF is cooled to 0° C. At 0° C., 1.27 ml tetra-n-butylammonium fluoride (˜75% in H20) are added. The reaction mixture is allowed to warm to room temperature and stirred for 90 minutes.
