0.3 g (0.925 mMol) of (R)-N5 -[amino(nitroimino)methyl]-N-[(4-hydroxyphenyl)methyl]-ornithinamide were dissolved in 3 ml of glacial acetic acid and after the addition of 3 ml (0.032 Mol) of acetic anhydride the mixture was heated to a reaction temperature of 50° C. for 30 minutes. The product remaining after the volatile components had evaporated off was further processed without purification.
