Procedure
Employing diethyl 3-chloro-2,4,5-trifluoro-6-methylbenzoylmalonate (320 mg) and p-toluenesulfonic acid (3 mg), the procedure of Reference Example 19 is repeated to give ethyl 3-chloro-2,4,5-trifluoro-6-methylbenzoylacetate (300 mg), as brown oil.
