Reaction Steps
Ethyl N-(4-ethoxycarbonylphenyl)formimidate (Example Ia) (6.6 g, 0.03 mol) and N-octylaniline (6.2 g, 0.03 mol) were heated at 180° until 1.7 ml of ethanol had been collected by distillation. The resulting pale yellow oil was flash distilled to yield the desired product, bp≈235° C. (0.05 mm). ##STR15##
