5-Bromo-2-(4-octyloxyphenyl)pyrimidine and 3-benzyloxybenzeneboronic acid are reacted analogously to Example 1 to give 5-(3-benzyloxyphenyl)-2-(4-octyloxyphenyl)pyrimidine. ##STR35## Removal of the benzyl protecting group from 5-(3-benzyloxyphenyl)-2-(4-octyloxyphenyl) pyrimidine by hydrogenation analogously to Example i gives 5-(3-hydroxyphenyl)-2-(4-octyloxyphenyl) pyrimidine. ##STR36##
