Procedure
25 g (90 mmol) of 3-chloro-6-[4-methoxy-3-(1-methylethoxy)phenyl]pyridazine are boiled under reflux with 22.5 g (0.45 mol) of hydrazine hydrate in 200 ml of butanol for 12 hours. The reaction mixture is subsequently diluted to three to four times the volume with ice-water, and the precipitate is filtered off and recrystallized from isopropanol/cyclohexane. 18.9 g (76.8%) of 3-hydrazino-6-[4-methoxy-3-(1-methylethoxy)phenyl]pyridazine of m.p. 116° C. are obtained.
