50 g of N-(3-dimethylaminopropyl)-p-dimethylaminobenzamide (0.201 mole) from Example 1 and 47 g of tetradecylchloride (0.195 mole) were melted together and kept at 130° C. for 4 hours. Product was crystallized from 250 ml of ethylacetate; the crystals were washed with another 150 ml of ethylacetate. Yield was 71 g (74% of theoretical yield).
